- L34 Option: $184.35
- L35 Option: $63.20
- The 396-350 hp L34 engine is fitted with a forged-steel crankshaft. The 396-325hp L35 engine is equipped with a cast-iron crankshaft
- The 396-350 hp L34 engine has a high-lift hydraulic camshaft, the 396-325hp engine has a low-lift hydraulic camshaft
- Standard production 396 engine with 4.094-inch bore and 3.760-inch stroke
- 10.25:1 compression ratio with cast-aluminum pistons
- Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor mounted on a cast-iron intake manifold
- Oval-ported cylinder heads, 2.065 intake and 1.720 exhaust valves
- Heavy-duty radiator with four-blade fan, seven-blade clutch fan option. Seven-blade clutch fan standard when air conditioning is specified
- 12-bolt rear axle housing
- Dual exhaust
- Three- or four-speed manual transmission or Turbo-400 automatic transmission required
- Black-out rear tail panel; except with Z/11 Pace Car.
